Treatment at Daybreak is DBT Informed

Dialectical Behavior Therapy is an evidence based cognitive behavioral treatment developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan at The University of Washington. DBT has proven to be effective for adolescents struggling with emotional regulation. Using both acceptance and change strategies, DBT aims to help children and adolescents who struggle to manage intense emotions, impulsive behaviors, or self destructive urges by replacing these problem behaviors with skillful behaviors.

DBT skillful behaviors include Distress Tolerance, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Mindfulness, Emotional Regulation
